I am thankful for:
- having a wonderful SO
- having friends who support me when I need it
- having an actually affordable apartment in hectic rent gouging Berlin
- having a pretty sick job
- having the resources to learn a language all by myself
- being born in an age that we have those resources available at our fingertips
- not having to worry about money
- being able to take time off to fly to the US
- all the people who helped me get to where I am (Herr Kosinski, Herr Fischer, Frau Rasche in the earlier years; Edu, my mom, the kind people at various bureaucratic institutions, Lady Luck later on)
- being born without any physical issues that need lots of care and attention
- always having food on the table and a roof over my head
- having learned programming at an early age and enjoying it
- never having been a (real) victim of crime
- having really good teachers in primary and secondary education
- not having to worry about politics or government
- having a really cool boss and great, fun coworkers
It's not an exhaustive list, but this is what came to mind in the last 10 minutes.
